WHAT: Each year, Administrative Senate recognizes
three administrators who have made significant contributions to
the Ohio University community by granting them the OUstanding Administrator
Award. Each recipient will be honored at an awards ceremony, receive
a certificate of recognition, have his/her name inscribed upon
a permanent plaque in Chubb Hall and receive $1,000.
WHO: To be eligible for the award an administrator
must have all of the following: 1) a minimum of five years
of consecutive service as a full- or part-time administrator
at Ohio University and currently serving as a full- or part-time
administrator; 2) administrative responsibility at any level
(professional responsibility); and 3) a presidential contract
with employment of nine, 10, 11 or 12 months who spends 50
percent or more of time in administrative duties. (The President,
Vice-Presidents, Provost, Vice-Provosts, the Secretary and
Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, Deans, and those eligible
for Faculty Senate are not eligible for this award.)
WHY: Do you want to see excellence rewarded?
Selection of the recipients will be based upon exemplary
job performance and accomplishments including any or all
of the following:
1) Quality of Work Performance—innovative and creative
thinking and action, ability to make sound decisions, willingness
to share information about the University, state or national
recognition, service to the University outside of direct
responsibilities, and/or service to the community; and
2) Human Relations and Communications Skills—positive
interaction with students, faculty, staff and the general
public.
Nominations may be submitted by any member of the University community--students, faculty and staff are eligible to make nominations. Email nominations are accepted and encouraged. PLease submit noiminations as soon as possible, but no later than 5 pm on Friday, January 29, 2010
